COMPETITOR DOCUMENTS

QUALIFICATION

You know your abilities better than we do, so we ask you to enter the event to what you believe you are capable of. If you are new to ultra running, then tackle this in a team first before attempting solo.

AID STATIONS

There will ONLY be a full service manned aid station at the start line for each day.

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

ALL RUNNERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO CARRY THE FOLLOWING MANDATORY EQUIPMENT.

  • Mobile Phone with event numbers installed (These will be provided in the week of the event and also at check in)
  • Charging bank for your phone
  • Emergency Plus App installed on phone – you can find this HERE
  • Space blankets x 2
  • Seamed Sealed Waterproof Jacket
  • Compression/Snake bandage x 1 (this must be 10m in length).
  • Whistle
  • Minimum 1.5lt water
  • 2 x Headlamps
  • Hi vis vest to current AS/NZ standards – this is now to be worn over your pack at all times
  • Spare Batteries for headlamps (or charging device for non battery headlamps)
  • 8 x AAA Lithium Batteries for changing in spot trackers at intervals. (these are to be handed in at check in
  • Crew must carry a FULL 10 MAP SET of the Walk The Yorke maps on them. This will be checked at runner check in.
  • You must render all possible assistance to any person found injured or incapacitated.
  • Runners requiring medication should provide sufficient medication for the race, and allow for eventualities such as fatigue etc.
  • Runners may also be required to have the following if the weather turns poorly:
    • Thermal pants and top
    • Waterproof pants

Conditions will be monitored daily on what runners are required to carry.

We absolutely rely on a great bunch of volunteers to help bring this event together. Please consider helping out so that we can help people achieve their goals of crossing that finish line.

Your contribution for this beast of an event will gain you a $400 race credit (can only be used towards 1 event – no change given and max 1 voucher per person for S.O.S.) to any of our Ultra Series events nationwide.
